Run!

You run

I pursue

your laughter echoes down the hallways of my heart

you stop to catch your breath

I reach to take hold of you

ten sweaty fingers slicing through the air

you take to your heels

your footfalls pale into the distance

your friends say you are playing hard to get

and the thrill of the chase is worth it

But what exactly am I getting?

a lover

Or a confused antelope.
